Already in the end of the 19th century Kitzbühel was famous as a summer health resort. Today Kitzbuehel is not only the host city of the most popular downhill ski race of the world, the Hahnenkamm Race, but also of a lot of other events.

Whether sports, from the Polo tournament to the Triathlon World Cup, or socially from the Jazz Festival in march to the annual fair in august. Not to forget the Austrian Tennis Open and the big Hansi Hinterseer Concert in summer.

Kitzbühel fasicnates with his Tyrolean Charme, which brought a lot of celebrities to this little town in the alps. With its countless bars and pubs, restaurants and the casino, Kitzbuehel gots the nickname "Monte Carlo of the Alps".

In particular, Kitzbuehel is a city of sport: In winter 56 modern cable cars and lifts take you to the tops of the mountains. The most famous cable car is the 3S-Bahn, which connects the skiing area of Jochberg with Kitzbuehel, and "flys" over the Saukasergraben. The gondola is hanging over 400 meters above the valley, which gives you exciting views down to the ground.

In summer you can use the cable cars to get up to the top of the mountain easily, and start your day trip up there. Experience the famous Kitzbuehler mountain pastures with home-made cheese and milk. Or use the mountain bike to discover the downhill slopes, according to the slogan "Bike the Streif!".

Kitzbuehel is also the paradise for golfers: 3 golf courses are almost in the city, beyond them a 18 hole Championship Course in Aurach/Eichenheim. After an exhausting day jump into the cool Schwarzsee (Black Lake) and enjoy the beautiful panorama between the "Wilder Kaiser" mountains and the "Kitzbueheler Horn".
